Ethereum

One row from a list of ten, chosen by market value on 26 Oct 2026 from one named source. It is not a judgement, and it is not a reason to buy, sell or hold anything.

The price card is a reading from 5 Nov 2026, refreshed at most once every 24 hours, including a one-year series. Prices are in US dollars. The switch at the top adds the same reading in pounds. It is not a live price. The public networks page used another rule, on 21 Oct 2026, and it is not rewritten here.

Information, not advice. A clean result does not make anything a good investment.

What it is

Ethereum is an open public blockchain, launched in Jul 2015. It is a place to run programs, called smart contracts. The coin is ether (ETH). A transaction fee is paid in ether. In 2022 it moved to proof of stake.

Who can change the rules was not read again. The staking deposit contract is one contract, not the rules of the whole network. It is on Protocols.

Technical detail

This row's own updated time was 12:10:46 UK time on 5 Nov 2026. The dollar list was read at 12:11:15 UK time on 5 Nov 2026 and the pound list at 12:11:15 UK time on 5 Nov 2026, as two calls. The pound figures are CoinGecko's own, not a conversion made by this site. The digits are the ones the response printed, with thousands separators only. A price of 1 dollar or 1 pound or more is shown to the cent or penny. A price under 1 is shown to six decimal places. A percentage is shown to two decimal places. Half a unit rounds away from zero.

The API terms, latest version 5 Sep 2025, were read on 30 Oct 2026. They say storage of the data is not encouraged, and that a stored copy should be refreshed at least every 24 hours. This site's server asks CoinGecko's Demo API for these figures at most once every 24 hours, and shows a saved copy if CoinGecko cannot be read. These figures were read at 12:11:15 UK time on 5 Nov 2026. They are that reading, not a live price.

The terms require the message “Powered by CoinGecko”, in a legible font no smaller than size 10, beside the figures. They say the data is provided “as is” and “as available”, and that CoinGecko does not warrant that it is accurate, up to date, or free of omissions. Any reliance on it for a financial decision is at the reader's own risk.

The checks that apply

Ether is the coin. The token check reads a contract's code. It does not read the coin itself, and no contract address for the coin was taken, so that check was not run for the coin. The latest-block page reads Ethereum. A token on Ethereum can be pasted into the token check.
